Jesus christ died to give His followers the spirit of victory over the adversities separating them from God
The children of Israel didn't just walk into an abundant life once Pharoe let them go, and neither do we once we accept Christ and remove ourselves from the hand of the enemy.
They were tested in the wilderness, and once into the promised land, there was still giants to battle and kingdoms to conquer. Today's Christianity keeps the believer struggling with sin because they are absent the Power of The Cross. This is all prophesied in your Bible.
"Holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied it's power"; "always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of The Truth". 2 Timothy 3:5,7
Make NO mistake oh child of God, there is salvation and redemption from your sins. There's alot of books and teachings on conquering sins but only ONE TRUE WAY, and that is through Jesus Christ. A TRUE follower of Christ will receive salvation from what Paul called "the foolishness of the cross". We serve a suffering and dying Savior that dwells within us to put the nature inherited through Adam to death. Coming to Christ and even after, we are called "babes in Christ" and no different from the rest of the world. But even as children we still are no different from unbelievers,
And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? 1Co. 3:1-3
Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; Galatians 4:1
The Spirit of The indwelling Christ is a Spirit of Victory and joy in the face of suffering, submission, surrender, and death. Make no mistake, God Was, Is, and Will Always be against sin and unrighteousness. The curses of frustration, anxiety, stress and depression for breaking His Holy laws are as effective and real as our natural ones, whether we know His laws and precepts or not.
“But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God or be careful to do all his commandments and his statutes that I command you today, then all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you. and there shall be no resting place for the sole of your foot, but the Lord will give you there a trembling heart and failing eyes and a languishing soul. Your life shall hang in doubt before you. Night and day you shall be in dread and have no assurance of your life. In the morning you shall say, ‘If only it were evening!’ and at evening you shall say, ‘If only it were morning!’ because of the dread that your heart shall feel, and the sights that your eyes shall see.
Deuteronomy 28:15;65-66
God does not change, and if God removed all the curses because of Christ like churches wanna say He did, then why do the Christians of today still struggle with the same failures and disappointments as the rest of the world? Jesus made it a point to emphasize that He was "The Way" back to obedience to God The Father. It was Christ's faith and Hope in His glorification and resurrection that gave Him such a persevering Spirit, this, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, is the spirit and gospel of Christ. It's common sense that obedience to God's laws lead to a rewarding life whether we call on Jesus or not. But it's only in Christ we have the conviction and desire to cleanse ourselves of any sin and conform to His nature. As the apostle Paul wrote:
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin. That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
1Peter 4:1,2; Galatians 2:20
The testimonies of Christians past and some present with such compelling stories of total life transformations, come from self and worldly pursuits abandonment. Jesus told us that your either with Him or against Him. The epistles express that friendship with the world makes us an enemy of God. You can not go half heartily with Jesus, we are all called to be preachers, prophets, healers and miracle workers, but these gifts won't come from having one foot in the church on Sunday, and the rest of your heart and attention in the world the other six days.
